The study investigates indigenous strategies found across Southern Senegal, focusing on how courtyards, verandas, transitional spaces, porous walls and locally sourced materials can moderate the microclimate while strengthening social connections.
Environmental phenomena such as cross-ventilation, pressure differences, thermal mass and evaporative cooling are studied alongside cultural patterns of gathering and communal life.
